What We Do
Humboldt Furniture specializes in Buying and Selling quality used furniture and decor. We hand select all items and deep clean everything. We also carry an eclectic variety of new items such as Tapestries, Banners, Posters, Glassware, and More! Humboldt Furniture is owned and operated by a mother-daughter team. They are warm, friendly, honest people who have created such wonderful vibes in the store that it's practically tangible.
Susan had the vision- to open an earth-friendly resale boutique! In a college town where large numbers of people are moving in and out, she wanted to create a place for people to buy and sell furniture that is built to last. Rather than buying low quality from big box stores only to be dumped in a landfill.
Her daughter, Alex, runs the store- She has passion for creating a feeling of "home". Having lived out of the country she knows how challenging it can be to move to a new place, and how important it is to make your new surroundings warm and comfortable. She goes above and beyond to get to know customers and select furniture and decor complimenting many different styles, tastes, and budgets.
We sincerely thank the community for continuing to support our business!
The Beginning:
Established in 2011, Humboldt Furniture was opened on a dream and a shoe-string budget! Susan has been proprietor of The Clothing Dock since 2000. Over the years she got a lot of feedback from the community about the need for a place where people could buy, sell, and trade their used furniture and housewares.
Susan decided to make her dream a reality. Her son, Joey, did all the construction and remodeling. She asked her sisters and other family members to donate things they no longer used, needed, or wanted. And she asked her daughter, Alex, to come on full time and run the store.
Every penny earned was put back out into the community to buy more merchandise. Over the years, we have refined our eye for buying High Quality, Unique pieces
Humboldt Furniture was formerly named The K Street Annex. After a couple years of "What's this place called again", and "What are you an annex of" we decided to change our name. Something clear, concise, and easy to remember. And so, Humboldt Furniture was born!
